SCCA Club Racer Jacob Loomis Steps-Up to F4 U.S. Championship

The off-season momentum continues for the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda as it gains Sports Car Club of America Club Racing pilot Jacob Loomis of Corinth, Texas. Global Racing Group confirmed Loomis as its first of four drivers for the 2017 F4 U.S. Championship.

“Participating in SCCA Club prepared me for SCCA Pro Racing. It gave me the experience and knowledge to race other people,” Loomis said. “It’s very exciting to join a professional team like Global Racing Group. The many years of experience represented in its business and sporting advisory boards makes Global Racing Group uniquely positioned to support my career aspirations.”

The 16-year-old competed in the 2016 SCCA Mid-States Majors Conference Championship in a Formula Mazda winning eight races and setting several lap records. Loomis also started on pole in the 2016 SCCA National Runoffs at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course finishing the race with a new track record. After his 2016 success, Loomis earned final-four status for the World Speed Rising Star Award.

"Jacob has a lot of talent and experience, which in combination with his passion, energy and great positive personality makes him an ideal candidate and fit for the Global Racing Group program,” said Global Racing Group President Christian Pedersen. “Jacob has all the ingredients that we’re looking for in a driver. He can campaign for the F4 U.S. Championship and develop further towards the top levels of professional racing.”

Earlier this year Momentum Motorsports with Adirondack Radiation Motorsports announced its first driver, F4 U.S. rookie Kent Vaccaro of Plattsburgh, New York.
