Edwards and Horton join Tavella at Alliance Racing
As the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda grid continues to grow, Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy does as well. With the announcement of Dylan Tavella confirmed to join the team in 2019, Alliance Racing is now pleased to announce that Will Edwards and Chandler Horton will return to the squad to fill three of the cars in the expanding four-car program.
"I am so thankful to be rejoining Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy in 2019," explains Horton. "We made huge strides in 2018 and with the addition of Dylan Tavella, I am confident of even more progression in 2019 and our fight for the overall series championship."
Even after missing three races due to academics, Horton finished his first full season of F4 U.S. 25th out of 51 drivers. Edwards entered the second half of the season as one of the youngest rookies in the field, improving his times each round.
"Last year was a steep learning curve for me," adds Edwards. "I only started racing a short time ago so every time I go on the track, I learned more. A lot of the tracks that we raced at I saw for the very first time when I got there, and I continually improved at each facility. I am working hard in the off-season and have a lot of testing planned, so I am anticipating being much further up the grid in 2019."
With three of four drivers confirmed, mechanics, engineers and driver coaches in place, Alliance Racing has already initiated their winter testing program and has an opportunity available for one more driver to join their program.
"We have several test dates planned and a fourth seat to fill for the 2019 season," states Team Owner Toney Edwards. "With our program in place, costs allocated and some partners in place, we have the opportunity to add a fourth driver at a slightly discounted rate. We have a lot of time, but would like to complete this in the very near future to ensure our program has as much cohesiveness as possible as we move onwards into the new year."
Upcoming Test Dates
December 18-20: NOLA Motorsports Park
Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy will also participate in the Formula Pro USA Western Championship program in January and February. The series will be two weekends with two events per weekend at both Sonoma Raceway and Auto Club Speedway in California, providing for both wheel-to-wheel competition and ample testing time. Alliance Racing has one seat open for a driver looking to compete in this series.
Working with a management company to fill the last remaining seat, Alliance Racing will have a complete online revamp to increase exposure, streamline programs, and promote and develop a quartet of drivers. A re-launched website and social media pages are set to happen before the end of the year and will be made public when available.
