Instant threat for victory in Texas
As the 2019 Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda season nears completion, Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy is continuing their growth. Adding a fifth driver for the season finale at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, over the November 1-3 weekend, the Indianapolis-based team is pleased to welcome British F4 standout Tommy Foster to their driver lineup.
"I am really excited to have Tommy join us at COTA," explained Toney Edwards. "We connected through social media and the conversations progressed from there. He enters the event with a ton of experience and will be a threat for victories and podium results throughout the weekend."
Currently competing in the British F4 Championship with Arden Motorsport, Foster enters COTA as a multi-time karting champion, and a top-five competitor in the talent filled British F4 program. Foster also carries the endorsement of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco on his helmet, a high honor.
A former English Champion in Senior Max in 2017 and 2018, Foster was also the 2017 British Open Champion in Junior Max and scored the pole position at the 2017 World Finals in Portimao, Portugal. Ranked as one of the best karters in the UK, Foster competed on the national stage as a privateer effort utilizing his dad as a mechanic. Additionally, Tommy Foster is the only competitor to hold both a British Open and English Championship at the same time, neither Lewis Hamilton nor Jenson Button were able to accomplish such success.
Prior to getting on tack at the Circuit of the Americas, Foster will spend some time testing with Alliance Racing.
Edwards added, "We wanted to get Tommy some seat time before COTA not only to fit him properly to the car, but also have him work with our engineer, crew and have him get use to the Hankook Tires that we utilize here in the United States."
