Ori ready to make his series debut at Mid-Ohio
With five competitors already locked in for the 2020 season, Alliance Racing has inked a deal with Ayrton Ori, their sixth and final driver for the upcoming Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda. With the delayed season due to COVID-19 set to go green next week at the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Ori will join the Indianapolis based program as he makes his series debut in Lexington, Ohio.
"We are pleased to welcome Ayrton to the team," explained Team Owner Toney Edwards. "Ayrton comes with experience from many different series and programs, and will be a valuable member to Alliance Racing. Though we have been unable to complete any test laps, Ayrton has the experience to be up to speed by the end of the first day on track."
Traveling to Indianapolis last week, Ayrton was able to meet the team, tour the shop and complete a seat fit prior to his first green flag of the season.
"I am excited to join Alliance Racing and the F4 program. I was able to meet the team last week as well as the engineering staff which only added to my excitement," expressed Ori. "It will be great to get back behind the wheel and compete again. 2020 has obviously been a different year in many ways, but I will look towards some sort of normalcy in less than two weeks' time as I am back behind the wheel and on a race track!"
Graduating from the ninth grade less than a month ago, Ori enters the first event weekend of the series with support from Novo Nordisk Norditropin, Permatex, Spray Nine, Poyatech Window Film and Bell Helmets. Additionally, Ayrton is an Ambassador for the Human Growth Foundation.
