Nicolas Stati Wins at NJMP for Third F4 U.S. Victory this Season

MILLVILLE, N.J. (July 28, 2024) – Nicolas Stati earned his third win of the 2024 Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) season, taking the victory in Race 2 at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP). Stati (No. 15 AGI Sport Ligier JS F422) successfully held off his competition, leading the entire 30 minutes en route to the victory.

Notes of Interest:

  • Nicolas Stati earned his third win of the season. The Australian is the only driver to finish on the podium in all seven rounds this year.
  • After winning yesterday in Race 1, Alex Crosbie earned his third podium of 2024, finishing second in today’s Race 2.
  • Daniel Quimby finished third, returning to the podium for the fifth time this season, after retiring early in Race 1 yesterday.

Setting the fastest lap in Race 1 yesterday, Stati led the field down the starting grid for Race 2 on Sunday morning. The Australian has started from the pole five times this season, and once again got a great jump off the starting block to take control of the race. Behind him, they raced two- and three-wide around the 2.250-mile circuit before settling into position.

With Stati out front, Alex Crosbie (No. 41 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) ran second, and Pablo Benites Jr. (No. 44 Scuderia Buell Ligier JS F422) third. Daniel Quimby (No. 24 Cruise America / MIR Raceline / FIJI Airways / GalvanizeIns Ligier JS F422) lined up sixth, but had a productive opening lap to move up to fourth by the time the field completed the first circuit. With the clock ticking down, the field spread out nose to tail, quietly completing laps in the race that stayed green from lights to checkers. Some of the closest racing of the afternoon was between Benites Jr. and Quimby, with Quimby ultimately making the pass on Benites Jr. to claim the third spot just before the halfway point.

Despite Crosbie closing in on Stati during the closing laps, it was still Stati who saw the checkered flag first, crossing the line with Crosbie in second, and Quimby in third.

“That was a fun race,” said Stati after the checkered flag. “Alex kept me on my toes the whole time, but we were able to get it done. I couldn't have done it without my team—AGI Sport and Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport.”
